MWD Allocation Plan

In February 2008, the Metropolitan Board adopted the Water Supply Allocation Plan, which is intended to provide the basis for allocating limited supplies should Metropolitan not have access to the supplies necessary to meet total firm demands. The shortage allocation formula also includes a reduction schedule for IAWP deliveries corresponding to each shortage level. The original IAWP percentage reduction is shown under 2008 and 2009.

With the adopted changes to the IAWP, the reduction provisions under the IAWP will be adjusted with each year of the phase-out period as shown in the shaded region for year 2010, 2011, and 2012. As the IAWP discount diminishes over the phase-out period, the reduction requirement will also be reduced.
