The Southern California Agricultural Water Team has created this website in order to provide its members with a one-stop site where they can learn the latest information about water availability in Southern California on a real-time basis.

The site also provides pricing information from the region's wholesaler, Metropolitan Water District, as well as from local wholesalers. Some of these local wholesalers may also provide retail service to some users.

We have also provided links to a great many other locations in the event you want to web-surf for even more detailed information. You will also find links to politicians to whom you might find a need to write from time to time and to other water agencies' web sites.

We expect this site to grow and evolve to meet your needs. For example, we may want to add a state and/or federal bill tracking system that will allow you to see where in the process a particular bill related to agriculture is. There is also a link that will allow you send us a message that is either a question or a suggestion for additional improvements to the page.

LINKS
Clicking on the "Links" menu choice will take you to a list of water-oriented websites in which you might be interested. If you think there are others that should be listed just let us know. The goal is to provide you with easy navigation to those websites that could impact your business. While we have focused on water issues, there may be grower issues, such as futures pricing and related activities, that are not directly related to water. It would be possible to load those onto the “links” page as well.

SUBSCRIBE new!
We have now initiated an email-based system that will allow subscribers to receive email notifications (and webpage links) to keep you updated with the latest additions.

NEWSLETTER
A companion to the website is a quarterly newsletter that will contain more in-depth information of interest to you. In addition to being mailed, the proposed newsletter will be posted here, where you can read it online or forward it to an associate. The primary difference in content between the newsletter and the website is that the newsletter will carry only a few articles of general interest and little news of immediate interest. This is because the production time for a newsletter does not lend itself to rapidly changing news. The website will contain such “instant” news, as well as all of the links and other data noted above.
